Can you see yourself in OSGR?

The Cornell Student Assembly Office of Student Government Relations (OSGR) is the official voice of students from across Cornell’s undergraduate student body. We’re looking for undergraduates who are passionate about advocating on behalf of current and future students for the accessibility, affordability and quality of Cornell University. Members of the organization spearhead a number of efforts on behalf of students including meetings with Congressional Representatives, interaction with NYS Student Government leaders and participation in local advisory boards and committees. If you are interested in finding ways to positively improve the lives of students at Cornell, we have opportunities in OSGR for you to take action.

Your Role

The Cornell Student Assembly Office of Student Government Relations is looking for a motivated and collaborative individual to join its team this fall. In this role, chosen individuals will join the team in developing policy recommendations, working with elected officials and staff and as well as communicating developments in the higher education space in pursuit of advocating for Cornell students. This individual will have the opportunity to build connections in government, education and lobbying at the state, local and federal level.

Qualifications

There are no pre-requisites when applying to this organization but a general interest in government, government relations, and student issues is important. If you have passion for a specific issue, that is even better! Undergraduate students across all of Cornell’s colleges are eligible.

How We Evaluate Applicants

While experience is welcome, we judge candidates primarily on their passion and commitment to working for positive legislative change and student advocacy. You will be evaluated on your ability to communicate, work with a team, and lead change.
